This is how I’m choosing to feel rn.

I’m chillin.

Roasting Marshmallows.

Inevitably, a mosquito will come and ruin my vibe though.

The mosquitoes this weekend weren’t too bad at my music gig, but man, but playing wasn’t great.

I think people had a good time, but I felt really unprofessional towards the end of the set if I’m being honest. Playing for 3 hours straight is no easy task. I tried it. I didn’t quite do it. I learned a lot. And at this point I’m just trying to frame it as positively as possible. Did I have fun? Yes. Mostly.

I needed to practice more. This is still true. My Guitar playing is actually not bad at all, I’m being really hard on myself here, but once again, after 20 years of guitar playing, the goal wasn’t to play for an hour, it was to be able to play for three. I made it about 2 and half before running short. There were a few other things I would change, but the one thing i defintiely could have controlled was my practice.

If I’m being honest…most of my free time in July had gone to game development. I’m really only like half way through my SnowCone MathFest renovations, but this weekend’s work has me feeling way better than my guitar playing rightnow.

I’ve always wanted to be a cartoonist, ever since I was a little kid. Coloring was always hard for me. Graphic design helped out with some of that, and now, AI is helping me put my first cartoon in my game.

This guy? His name is Patch. I asked my AI to make himself for a picture in story mode and we worked together to bring him to the world this way. This drawing is traced once from an AI rough draft and then edited and colored and moved around by me in Affinity 2 on ipad. I worked through 108 frames and I have this guy swatting mosquittoes and burning marshmallows. It’s really a joy to see him moving around. I’m already thinking of some more animations and movments I can give him, while you protect him from mosquitoes!

It’s a little rudimentary…but it gives me hope.

Life is hard y’all.

Hope. Fun. Joy. These are some of the things I feel when things go right. I’m a selfish person sometimes i guess. I just want things to go right! lol

Right now..Music is going right, because I learned something. Gamedev is going right because I have a little frog that eats mosquitoes for me..

Can I get one of those in real life?

I cancelled soundlcoud….I might get it going again..its about the same cost as everythjing else per year..typos because it’s lame. I’ma start selling CDs again.

Foreal though…
