SCMF devBlog: v1.4.0 Infinity Lake Update

I figured I should do a proper SnowCone MathFest v1.4.0 release blog.

SnowCone MathFest v1.4.0 brings a major polish pass to Infinity Lake and the festival UI.

What’s new:

  • Better iPhone/iPad presentation and App Store build polish.
  • Infinity Lake has a refreshed intro screen, cleaner difficulty selection, improved stats, and smoother results flow.
  • New theme-responsive HUD Glass styling across key menus and buttons.
  • Improved title-tap info panel with quick dropdown guides for new players.
  • Options, Profile, Data, and Radio screens now feel cleaner and more consistent.
  • Native iOS sound effects improved for Infinity Lake streaks and wrong answers.

This part of the summer updates has really been what I wanted to get to. working on the modes. Along the way I have discovered a few things that needed reworking. I have also benefitted greatly by moving develop strictly to iOS. It’s certianly not because iOS is the best or anything, I just have an iphone and that’s what is easiest for me to test on. I don’t mind the exclusivity rn though. The reason is, I think I can finsih the game on iOS and THEN port it. Much more sustainable model than developing and markeitng on multiple platforms. I like the idea of having a browser version work, but what exists in the browser version now is nowhere close to what is being represent in my VERY AFFORDABLE $3.99 APP.

Sorry, shameless plug in my own blog should be a thing. I’m proud of this game more than ever. I want to get to a 2.0.0 release. This invlolves mode and system revamps across the board.

This was an interesting project. Now? It’s an even more interesting project. It’s really starting to turn into a game, and my vision is being almost fully realized.

For instance, Infinity Lake now is a FULL game mode. I have implemented a new visions system to encourage more practicing of multiple choice math problems than I think would have without it. The player can (once I upload my current v1.4.1 build) work through 10 different visions at infinty lake. This will eventually be tied to other badge and achivement systems that I need to update and implement.

This app is really growing every time I work with it.

My main tester did open up my second game yesterday, made me think about it. but for now, until 2027…I’ll just hang out at the first SnowCone MathFest.

Under construction but still fun and valid for ages 4-100 to practice basic head #math daily!

Peace!
