SnowCone MathFest v1.2.0 The Fab Four

Shhh… I’m Not Supposed to Be Working on the App 🙈

I took a break—like a four-day sabbatical—and then a week or so ago I drifted back in and started slowly developing Chapter 2 (of 5) of Story Mode Forest. I told myself I wouldn’t worry about it or try too hard. Honestly, I was doing a great job of that… until this evening.

We now have v1.2.0!!!

Chapter 2 Is (Pretty Much) Done 🎉

Chapter 2 is basically wrapped, and with its completion came a fresh round of polish. Building this chapter helped me realize I wanted the player to navigate in a more intentional way, so I put up some gentle walls. The flow feels tighter now and it prevents players from cheeseballing through the experience.

Did I want a full “choose your own adventure” vibe? Yeah—still do. But at the moment, you’re on rails in the best possible way. I can always open things back up once the spine is locked.

Items Got a Glow-Up 💎

If I know you’re going to receive items at certain beats—and Chapter 2 made that super clear—then I need to show you that you got something. So the item experience got retooled: better feedback, clearer pickups, and a little extra sparkle when something special lands in your pocket.

No Chapter 3 Loop Waiting for Me (For Now) ⏸️

Chapter 3 will have to wait… and I’m excited for it! But there’s no Chapter 3 loop quietly nagging me right now. Chapter 2 is done, and I’m letting that win breathe for a second.

Also: I Met New Math People 🧠✨

This festival keeps introducing me to math legends I didn’t know about before. That curiosity—those late-night rabbit holes—keeps shaping the story in weird and wonderful ways.
