A SnowCone Dev Log — v0.6.8-ish
🐘🎯 “You moved the goalpost.”
I was accused of that today. And… yeah. It’s true.
If you’re looking for a clean, shippable version with zero drift and perfect scope control — do not put me in charge.
Because I will change things.
I’ll add ants.
I’ll light up tents.
And today… I’m adding mosquitos. 🦟
⛺ Tent Game Status: Rockin’
The Tent Game is solid. It’s just waiting on:
- more tent shapes
- a more fun glowing line
- and a tweak from someone with tiny fingers who suggested awarding bonus points when all tents are lit 🌟
I’m listening. That’s going in during final polish.
🚗 Parking Game: Functional But Not Magical
It works. It’s got:
- nice art 🎨
- required completion for badge collectors 🏅
- a working honk-and-park system
But it’s missing something in the intro screen to pull you in. I gotta figure that out.
Also still need to add sounds to the honk button 🎺🔊
🐜 AntAttack: Playable and Weirdly Epic
This game is almost done.
You can play it. You can win.
And sometimes you’ll have to lose. 😅
It’s not always fair. It’s a tug-of-war with ants over food.
Red ants come for your snacks. You push back.
There’s just one button. It’s mostly passive. Not exactly what I wanted… but what emerged was a weirdly elegant, simple game.
AntAttack is functional. It’s clean. And it could totally expand one day.
🦟 But Then… The Buzzing
I should be done. I should be celebrating.
But I can hear it. That sound.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz
The mosquito.
The realest part of any camping experience.
So I’m moving the goalpost again.
🎯 Enter: The Mosquito Game
Why?
Because mosquitos are part of life.
And at SnowCone MathFest, you’ll get to kill them.
I don’t know how many. I don’t know how often.
But I do know:
- 🪓 You’ll tap them
- 💯 You’ll earn camping score
- 🧬 You’ll earn XP
- 🐛 They’ll buzz in at the worst possible time
🌕 Final Thoughts
I should be done.
Kids Mode is almost locked.
But I’m still vibing, still tweaking, still dreaming up one more ridiculous thing.
Because that’s what this is.
It’s a living, growing festival.
And AntAttack…
