What is SnowCone MathFest?

SnowCone MathFest is a homemade musical math festival in app form — a mix of arcade games, story mode, and chill music. Instead of big, scary “test prep,” you get:

  • QuickServe Pavilion – fast-paced math orders/equations, like working a SnowCone stand at rush hour. 1 minute 45 seconds to top your last high score!
  • Infinity Lake – endless multiple-choice practice with a groove, for when you just want to zone out and tap answers. Make sure to check your results at the end of the session.
  • Camping Games – kid-friendly mini-games (tents, cars, ants, and more) that quietly sneak in math thinking. Great for getting kids tapping on and using technology, but with no ads or bad energies intended. Fun for adults also!
  • Story Mode Forest – a branching visual story where your choices and your math sense actually matter. This is where you can practice word problems with zero risk!
  • MathTips Village – an NPC chatbot with an ever improving brain and conversational style. He gives lessons, quizzes, lore, recipes, haiku, jokes, and more! Go talk to him today (and email me the conversation!! I may be able to work in your unique questions and thoughts…)

SnowCone MathFest is built to feel like wandering around a nighttime festival: glowing signs, little secrets, music loops, and characters that show up across modes. Underneath all the neon, the goal is simple: help kids (and adults) get more comfortable with numbers, patterns, and problem-solving — without it feeling like homework.

PLAY GAME!!!

Who is this for?

Who is SnowCone MathFest for?

  • Kids who like games more than worksheets.
  • Teens who secretly want to get better at math but hate being talked down to.
  • Adults who want a cozy little brain-toy instead of doom-scrolling.
  • Teachers & parents who want something weird-but-wholesome to put in front of their kids that actually has math thinking under the hood.

There’s no chat, no ads, no dark in-app purchases. There are a few links to JPS Grooves creations, but those are hidden and limited. Just math games, story choices, and a lot of SnowCones.

Where can I play it?

Where does this thing live?

The exact features might vary a bit between browser / app versions as things grow, but the core festival vibe is the same.

The app version retails for US$3.99 and DOES come with extra features!

I found a bug / something broke. Now what?

Found a bug? Screen went weird? Rotation yeeted the app into space?
SnowCone MathFest is a one-person indie project, so weird little bugs absolutely sneak in — especially across different phones, browsers, and school devices (you should be studying!)

If something breaks, it really helps if you can share:

  • What device you’re on (phone / tablet / laptop + brand/model if you know it)
  • What browser/app you’re using (Safari, Chrome, installed app, etc.)
  • What you were doing right before it broke (which mode, which button, what you tapped/pressed)
  • Screenshots or a short description of what you saw (black screen, frozen, text too big, etc.)

With that info, it’s way easier to track the bug down and patch it in a future update.

Is this kid-safe?

Is SnowCone MathFest kid-safe?
Yes. I made this for my kids…The festival vibe is neon and a little surreal, but the content is made with kids, classrooms, and fun in mind:

  • No swearing, gore, or adult themes.
  • No ads.
  • No in-game chat or messaging.
  • Progress is stored locally on the device (or via simple save files), never sold or shared.

Some parts of the app (like the Creator’s Journal / “behind the scenes” content) lean more reflective/artsy, but the core modes kids see first are designed to be school-friendly and parent-friendly.

I’m a teacher / tutor. How do I use this?

For teachers, tutors, and super-involved grown-ups:
SnowCone MathFest is not a full “curriculum,” but it slots in nicely as:

  • Warm-up / bell-ringer activity.
  • Brain break that still has math under the hood.
  • Incentive station / choice board option.
  • Home practice that doesn’t feel like another worksheet.

QuickServe Pavilion and Infinity Lake are great for fluency (basic operations, mental math, algebra-ish thinking). Story Mode and Kids Camping are better for “math mindset” — sticking with a puzzle, noticing patterns, and taking small risks, maybe even getting a little reading in as well.

If you’re using it in a classroom and want ideas or best practices, you can reach out through the support contact and mention you’re a teacher — that helps prioritize those messages.

If you’re still confused…

If you’re still thinking “I don’t totally get what this is”… that’s okay.
SnowCone MathFest sits in a weird little overlap:

  • Not just a game.
  • Not just a worksheet replacement.
  • Not just a story or album.

It’s more like a tiny, glowing math carnival you can carry in your pocket.

If you’re unsure whether it’s a good fit for your kid, your class, or yourself, feel free to try out another game. That being said, if you’re interested in the intentions behind this game, you’ll get an honest, human answer, not a marketing script. 💫
