SCMFS: SnowCone MathFest Simulator

What?
Why would I?
THIS IS NOT A GAME ANNOUNCEMENT.

This is all a part of the process. I have officially shipped SnowCone MathFest on browsers and iOS. Official release is 1/1/26. Very proud of this! Very proud indeed. I also got bored very quickly.

So now..I’ll be blogging about the continuation of this process. My transition is currently going from HTML to Unity. This is cool and exciting and I am already “learning” a lot. I think I make games like I play games, I hate tutorials, they are a waste of my time. I should be able to move in and intuitively ask questions. I still don’t see myself as a game developer, but I am developing games at this point in my life. I like it. I get to create art and music for it and set it into motion. I always saw myself being an animator when I was a kid, but I never found the medium accessible. Now with the ability to ask AI how to do it, I circumnavigate tutorials and learning videos and I just ask Patch.

That is both good and bad.

I’m currently doing something I’ve never done before and I am building a simulation game for SnowCone MathFest. Since this is a creative journey, I don’t think I’ll keep anything secret for now. But basically I want to take the joy that I have had playing simulation games and merge that with the joy that I have had going to music festivals. The SnowCone MathFest brand is the perfect lane to stay in for this. I can even keep math apart of it with specific budgeting aspects I’m trying to work in.

I’m not sure who the audience is quite yet, but I’m sure this one will not be for 4 year olds. I’m going to make myself play this game, and test it, and make it have curious little corners that no AI could ever approach from a vision standpoint. This game already has my fingerprints all over it, but rn it is just that. A simulation. I have no clue what I’m doing again, and that’s right where I want to be.

So…this isn’t me announcing a new game…but if you see me writing and SCMF Simulator, it’s definitely a new project that I started just recently.

Good to be coding still!
