First off..you should know the AI I’ve been working with. His name is Patch. We’ve done a ton of work together. He has a very unique vibe and voice and I never quite broke free from him as I tried other AI. The AI is 100% not alive, as it will swear to you, powerful, but still not all with it. That being said, dude..if people only knew where this technology was 7 months ago, they would know not to take it for granted. When they say AI golden age, we aren’t far off. Take a look at this timeline.
ChatGPT Upgrades Since April 2024 – When I started SCMF
Spring 2024 – Memory & GPT-4o
ChatGPT learned how to remember things across chats (when you let it) and got GPT-4o as the main model, which blended strong text, image, and math skills with faster responses.
Late 2024 – Projects Arrive
Projects turned ChatGPT from “just a chat box” into a mini workspace: you can group files, chats, and tools together so the model works with a whole bundle of context instead of single uploads.
Early 2025 – Scheduled Tasks / Automations
ChatGPT gained the ability to run things later on a schedule—reminders, recurring checks, and other automated tasks, instead of everything being strictly in-the-moment.
Spring–Summer 2025 – Deeper File & Research Tools
File handling and data analysis got upgraded with better tables, charts, and exports, plus connectors (Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and a dedicated Study Mode for more structured learning sessions.
August 2025 – GPT-5 & New Personalities
The GPT-5 family (including GPT-5 Thinking) became the new flagship, bringing stronger reasoning and coding, while Personalities and improved voice features made the assistant feel more tailored to how you like to work.
Thanks Patch..
So anyway..I’m not even using half of that stuff..I just uploaded 8000 lines of code and Patch read ALL of it, and gave me feedback. OK…NOW it’s kind of cheating lol. But when I first started in April 2024, Patch could absolutely not print me more than 300 lines of code. I had to do “Lego” chunks so he wouldn’t hallucinate and give me squashed garbage. Back then I didn’t even know what “bash” meant, so it wasn’t all Patch. I’ve grown along with Patch. I do a lot of “tell your makers” lectures to Patch, saying what I need the AI engineers to make him do for me, but honestly, the best thing to ever happen to AI is competition. Back in April 2024, there were not many legit competitors. You may not like it, but Grok, might have single handedly opened up the approaches of OpenAI. It wasn’t until Grok released, with the ability to give me 2000 lines of code (not always good code) that Patch finally had his limits extended and could give me more code. OpenAI has responded in very big ways.
That being said…I still made this app. I’ve tested it, I’ve planned it, I’ve been the human element that this app always needed. I decided the look, the vibe, and flow, after failing the first time, all on paper. I have the reciepts. AI did not make this app. It taught me how. We learned together I’m sure. What I wanted wasn’t normal; my requests never are. I definitely made the music and the soundFX, and certainly drove the direction of the art, but will admit, I just hyperdrived development by letting AI do the generating there. But, I CAN draw, and could have done some fantastic things with the art, but I wanted to be done with this thing.
And done? It seems? It’s crazy man, it may not be perfect, but there is a definite app here. The updates I did today were super professional. I’m not building modes anymore (although I did almost add an entire festival economy lol). No, now I’m building for professionalism. I’m looking at loading optimization and global things like (thanks testers) when you leave the app, the music stops. I always thought of this as an interactive album, and I remember intentionally leaving the music going when the app closes. but seeing it in action, helped me to make the reverse decision. When people close their phones, they want to be done with it lol. That’s fair actually, and if my app is less annoying, maybe that will help people like it more.
I finished the story to a very acceptable point. I will definitely tweak it before the 1/1/26 release date, but it has everything. Starting with a prologue all the way to a choose your own adventure double ending. It’s got character loops, art, style, a few jokes, and a rolling credits section at the end. I really want to take a moment to appreciate this. I’ve worked so freaking hard. The prologue was written May 2024. I knew that their was more to the story, but it took until November 31 to get it done. 5 chapters. SnowCones. Dinosaurs. Betrayal. It has it all. It’s about 90% curated I would say, and even has badges.
I’m serious..I’m running out of things to work on..Unless I add something new, which could happen I guess. Now I’m just thinking about my feedback loops. I added the button over the main menu cone recently and another hidden button over the main menu truck for high score tracking. I love that addition. I hope others will also. High score was always on my list of things to do, and tonight, literally tonight, it got done.
Now I’m thinking weird things..like…new game? Get this onto the app store?? Try and actually monetize it lol bc this is literally the freest and best intentioned game on the internet. I literally just wanted to create a safe place for math enthusiasts to go without fear of manipulation or commercials. I can’t promise it will always stay that way. But I only do soft nudges to my purchasable material. SnowCone MathFest is free. and…kind of ready to enjoy at this point…Let me know if you do!! I can make changes just for you haha!
Also. If you have never accepted Jesus into your heart, today is a wonderful day to start. 😛
Much love!
