JPS Grooves

Well hello there!

I’m just checking in to let you know a few things, then I’ll be on my way.

First off. The 1/1/2026 release date is imminent and unstoppable at this point. The tracks are loaded up (you can listen to them now) to Soundcloud and set for release in the new year. I’ll be very excited to add these songs officially to the JPS Grooves catalogue, as they hold some of my most fun and creative instrumental works. The extra feature that I’m looking forward to is the fact that you will also be able to purchase a vinyl copy of SnowCone MathFest. I know I’ll be picking one up. This is a really cool opportunity for me, one in which I plan to celebrate.

I’m throwing a party. I’m not sure how quite yet. But every work of art deserves some sort of release. I’ve been thinking up all sorts of ideas on how to do it, and it would be a really nice feeling to celebrate the app and album release, even if it is only with a few friends. I worked on this project relentlessly for more than half of 2025, so I’m trying not to feel ashamed that I want to celebrate its completion.

I keep saying it’s complete. But if I’m being honest, I’m still working on it. I have a job outside of this hobby, and that always has to come first, and as a result the development time has slowed down. I know, however, I put in my best work already and now I mostly have a flow that should keep me on track. At this time, Chapter 2 is fully fleshed out. I went back this weekend and fixed up the prologue diction to make it more me and more comprehendible. Then, while working on it, I was reminded of one of its best features, dialogue has different color! Well…I went nutso in Chapter 1 and now all the dialogue has color lol. Someone tested it before the color being added and mentioned it was hard to read, so I went in and added color! Next is another diction wipe. It needs to be clear that Dr. Kenny Fields is working on syrup bubbles that will land on, and cover, an entire pancake. We don’t know why he’s doing it, but we have to know that it is in fact what he is doing. The dialogue being highlighted is going to help though. It’s a little much, but I don’t really care. It’s fun. The purple dinos have purple font now and it’s cute. Chapter 2 I think will go back to a Blue caption experience I think. But it’s nice to remember the dev tool I used so heavily in the prologue.

Is that it? Music release…vinyl release…app release…party invitations…Then what? No need to think about that, but it looks like 2026 will be a year of play instead of a year of development.

I’m taking myself seriously. You should also take yourself seriously.
