V1.1.0 – Chapter 1: It Has Begun

Okay… I have to stop somewhere ⏸️

If I am to take a break and focus on something different, then this is my out. This is my opportunity to simply start talking about this thing. I mean—holy crap. Literally, go back. Look at the history of this thing.

I’ve been working on this app longer than I worked on some of my books (possibly). But I haven’t written a book in some time. I’ve forgotten how long one of those processes might even take. Perhaps I’m just always in a big project that seems like I’ll never get out. But who cares—that’s what I do.

The curve, the climb, the code 🧗‍♂️💻

This project, though, had such a huge learning curve with all the coding and upgrades I had to do. It reminds me a lot of when I did my self-publishing through Amazon and had to tweak my manuscript specifically into their formatter and publishing software. There are probably better ways to do these things from the ground up, but I don’t know them. I just do things the way I know how.

So… what’s left? 🗺️

Well… Chapter 2 has my attention, but I want to innovate there. And that can honestly wait.

You know what can’t wait? Life. I’ve got to step away from the intense coding side of this project for a little while. I deserve the break.

Chapter 1 is real. The app is ready to play. 🚀

Now, with me being truly satisfied with a Chapter One experience, I can say that this thing is ready to play. I want to just type it again: V1.1.0. wtf.

I’ve surpassed my greatest expectations of this project. I want to cry. I want to scream. I want to tell the world that this thing is alive and real. It pulses, it jives, it grooves. I’ve got some of the music below to prove it. We are in official Pre-Release mode!! I’ll be looking into little things here and there, and who knows—maybe a surprise Chapter 2 happens (I’m thinking new mini-games). But nah, man, I wanna have a party. 🎉

I don’t know how to release an app, but I know I’ll have an album—and maybe even some vinyl—ready by then. Dang… We did it. I did it. What more can I say? There is an app now. It’s called SnowCone MathFest. 🍧

The dream feature that works: Save/Import 💾

Oh… I fixed it also. So when you play it and unlock my awesome arty backgrounds, you can go to the Version tab and download your progress, and it saves it all (to my knowledge). You can erase everything and still get your stuff back. That was a big dream of mine, and it was the first thing I fixed tonight.

This is a game. This is an app. This is my head on screen. 🕹️🧠

I’m telling you… this is a game… this is an app… this is what’s in my head, realized in a very real way in the (physical?) digital realm. Enjoy! 🎶💜
P.S.

Check out my newest release on Soundcloud!

“Nothing Organic” is a fun track to re-release from my Kadeshavara days, before I rebranded back to JPS Grooves. This track fits so well though, for the Infinity Triplets to play, that I had to remaster it and put it on this album/game. The guitar is present with some heavy power chords, but outside that, this track ebbs and flows through the arpeggiated synth philosophy that makes up this album. After some squishes and squashes, the track begins to build until it’s right up in front of you. Yet, the track is surprisingly subtle, which is what I like most about it. When choosing the correct answer on a math game, you’re gonna need a consistent beat, and when playing SnowCone MathFest, you’re gonna need a consistent tone; this song added to this consistency. Staying until the very end? Be prepared to get arpeggiated into the stratosphere!🍧🌌

Nothing Organic

This is the seventh step in publishing all of the tracks from the SnowCone MathFest video game, releasing through JPS Grooves as a SnowCone MathFest SoundTrack album release! I always release on Soundcloud first, so go listen now!
