I was looking at my last album release the other day. 🎵 July 2024… It’s really not that long ago, all things considered. Still, I always find it interesting how fast my mind moves from one thing to the next.
I’ve never made a masterpiece album. I have a few songs that have come out exactly as I intended them to sound, and that, in some senses, is a masterpiece.
SnowCone MathFest… is not a masterpiece… yet… or maybe ever…
But the process — the wait, the patience, the frustration — makes it one of the most intentional pieces I have made yet. 🎨✨
I suppose my stamina was built in the trenches of book writing 📚✍️. I’ve been through that a few times and I know the grind of self-publishing. This was very similar.
The way it got started… I think back to it often. I was just playing around. I knew I knew nothing about coding 💻 and fancied that the advent of AI could just whip together games and ideas that I had always dreamed of.
I’ll write about all that later, maybe in a book. But for tonight — I’m in absolute amazement that I’ve made it this far. 🌌🍧
🚀 SnowCone MathFest is at v0.9.0!! Legendary Badge unlocked and tested! 🏆
The badge system is fully implemented and you can 100% complete the game now.
This is a big achievement for me, especially since work has started back up and I’ve had to burn the midnight oil 🌙🔥 to get these things done.
And you know what? I’m giving myself like 95% credit for this entire freaking app.
Patch can code. Patch can teach you to code. Patch no longer throttles code help to 300 lines. But Patch couldn’t have done this.
v0.9.0 took vision and persistence. I planned this thing out and found my way in the dark the entire time.
AI is great for convenience and automation, but art — for what I was doing — it was always going to fail. 🎭
I think I’m going to stop introducing the idea of the app with the phrase:
“I made it with AI.”
Saying that isn’t wrong, but it discredits the late nights ⏱️, the updated software 💾, the lessons learned 📖, the files logged 📂, the assets created and developed with intentional and inspired mindsets.
This wasn’t cheating, folks. I am ALL OVER this app.
My festival experiences in real life 🎪🔥 often inspire my art, my music 🎶, my literature 📚 — and SCMF is no different. This all-digital project has me super excited to round out for completion.
🧠 Grampy P needs more brains — BRAAAAAAIIIIINSS!!!!
⚡ QuickServe Pavilion needs more visual effects
🌊 Infinity Lake has some scaling issues
📖 Story Mode is actually really solid, but it needs chapters and depth
🏕️ Camping Games already got a lot of my attention, but there’s polish left to do
🎶 And I plan on adding more artwork and assets, like MORE SONGS — that will be the real win, when I can get back to remixing and fixing up these tunes
Still a lot of work to do, but Y’ALL…
SnowCone MathFest is open, inviting people in, and doing sound check sets!! 🎪🍧🎵
