🌊 Infinity Mode – End of Night Notes (2025-07-08)

DON’T TALK ABOUT THE TRIPLETS YET…WE WILL GIVE THEM LORE SOON….
that being said…the Infinity Triplets have arrived!!!

✅ Stuff that’s working:

  • Intro screen loads clean with triplets + bounce animation
  • Triplet PNG is scaling beautifully now and animated dynamically
  • Score and streak boxes show up together (in-row now), responsive + styled
  • Math problems generate correctly for addsub, multdiv, and alg
  • Correct answer triggers XP, score, and streak
  • Result popup modal exists with full markup + working buttons
  • End Game button shows popup with correct info
  • Mode buttons correctly switch game types now (with alternating logic!)

🧠 Current Known Issues / Left To-Do:

  • Triplet Animation Sequence:
    • Pose transitions work, but timing needs to feel smoother & maybe more random/surprising
    • Add bounce or glow variation to give them life while idle
    • Maybe switch to requestAnimationFrame? or easing styles?
  • Result Popup Polish:
    • Add actual high score tracking with MobX appState.profile.infinityHighScore
    • Add longest streak tracker (right now it resets but doesn’t track max)
  • Math Box Scaling:
    • On wider screens the text (math problem + answers) doesn’t scale properly
    • Clamp values for .il-math, .answer-options, and #mathProblem need tuning
    • Text pushing bottom of the grid when viewport’s too wide
  • Audio / Music:
    • Triplet Mode has no unique background beat yet
    • Mute toggle icon works but doesn’t show state (mute/unmute)
  • Layout Fine-Tuning:
    • il-math box gets vertically crunched or stretched depending on viewport
    • Needs max-height or better grid-template-rows ratios
  • Answer Box Color:
    • Colors were hardcoded in CSS, but we might want to programmatically assign them based on index just to keep things future-flex

🌟 Bonus Goals Later:

  • Add special glow or burst effect when streak hits 5, 10, etc.
  • Unlock a Triplet badge for completing a certain # of sets
  • Allow switching difficulty (maybe larger numbers? more distractors?)

🔥 Final Thoughts:
We brought this mode back to life today — the triplets are vibing, the layout’s tight, and the math core is real. Still plenty left on the table… but the groove is forming.

Tomorrow, we tune the text scale, wire that MobX high score, and get the final Infinity vibe rollin’ 🌈♾️
