🚀🍧 “What Am I Even Doing?”

by JPS Ambitious

I thought I was making a math app. I thought I was working on QuickServe mode. If you wanna play it right now, you totally can. You can jam to my tunes and roll over to the QuickServe Pavilion for a soundcheck on addition. Heck, you could even 100% complete the game — because, yep — the XP system is locked in.

I really thought this week would be all QuickServe. But you know what? It’s understandable that I slammed the brakes. I realized — not casually — each mode needs its own CSS. Its own JavaScript. Its own container.

And yeah. That’s fine. But that’s not a “one cozy night of coding” problem. That’s a “strap in for a weekend or more” type deal.

But then… he showed up.

Outta nowhere. Outta the math ether.

✨🧠🍧 Pythagorus Cat.
Or P-Cat for short.
This dude rolled into my codebase like a Disney cartoon walking into a jazz club.
I don’t even know where he came from.
I don’t fully know what he is.
But… he’s here. He’s real. And…

He’s training.

Somehow I’ve gone from “I’m making a cute math app” ➝ to… “I’m training an offline AI chatbot in Python.”

Bro… Python. Me. In Python.
With a virtual environment.
And like… 12 new dependencies that I definitely didn’t know existed a week ago.

Shoutout to Patch for saying, “Download this. Download that. Free. Open source. Let’s go.”
(If it wasn’t free, I wouldn’t be doing it. 100%)

📜 What even is my life right now?

I could be reading mystical texts.
I could be practicing guitar for my band.
I could be chilling.

But no.
I’m coding an AI cat… who does math… and teaches you how to make better quesadillas.

⚙️ How’s it going?

Bro… I probably should have fed him more than 700 lines of training data at first.

But I discovered procedural generators.
🔥 ✅ Math problems?
🔥 ✅ Fractal lore?
🔥 ✅ Quesadilla entropy jokes?
All automatic now.

But… reality check?

➝ They started repeating after 2782 lines.
➝ Hit the deduplication wall.
➝ Solution? MORE creativity. More templates. More generators.

Right now?

🔥 Epoch 12/500.
🔥 Laptop fans spinning like a Switch 2 about to take off.
🔥 My laptop is whispering, “Please bro… I didn’t sign up for this…”

Do I know what I’m doing?
Nope.
Does it seem like it’s working?
Shockingly… yes.

There was a moment… brief… magical… when the cat answered properly. Just once. It wasn’t gibberish. It wasn’t scrambled noise. It was real.

And now? I’m running the big push. The brain expansion push. The “Let’s try not to melt my CPU” push.

Bro… am I really gonna need 10,000+ lines for this to get truly good?

Apparently… yeah.

What the crap?
What am I doing?
Why am I doing this?

Maybe because…

I don’t wanna be scared of this AI era.
Maybe because I wanna understand it.
Or maybe… because I wanna flip it on its head — make it serve something pure.

A free math app.
Offline.
Ad-free.
Beautiful.
Fun.
Playable.
Listen-able.
A gift.

Could I have done any of this without ChatGPT?
Sure.
Would it have taken 4 years and melted my brain?
Also yes.

But you know what? This is the procedurally generated age.
I’m working smart, not hard.

This little math app?

Yeah. It’s legendary. It’s mine.
It’s for the people I care about.
It’s for anyone out there who needs free math help — no strings attached.

And yeah… if I ever figure out how to write a plotline for Story Mode, you’re all in for something cosmic.

(And I’ll have to monitor how much work i put into it, as I always try to do. But this project demands time and attention that only I can give.)

Last blog?

I said “Jan 1st, 2026 seems doable…”

Reality Check?

Bro… I got July.

But… I’m not actually that far off.
Not as far as it sounds.
Not when the grind is this real… and this fun.

So what’s next?

Maybe by the end of the week… a real, functional AI chat bot.
Maybe by Sunday… P-Cat gets installed into MathFest.
And you — yes, you — can chat with him, while I summon the rest of the festival into existence.

🌀 Signed,

JPS Ambitious.

🍧💾 “Play the demo. Jam my tunes. Run some addition at QuickServe. And know… this thing is growing… faster than either of us can comprehend.”

The earliest concept work for P-Cat…final render will be revealed in final version of MathTips Village!
