Okay. So I feel… really good about the menu right now.
That might not sound like a big deal. But for me? It’s a huge psychological milestone. The layout is responsive, the text glows ethereal and clean across screens, and the buttons actually work. There’s no weird scaling glitch on mobile. The emojis stack right. The PNG floats where it should. It feels like SnowCone MathFest.
More than anything — my process is working.
I’m keeping a daily dev log now. I know where my files are. The folder structure is modular and scalable. If I want to seasonally swap the background PNG for a winter solstice remix or a summer festival vibe, I can. That’s the kind of flexibility I always dreamed about when coding felt like chaos. This time it’s clean.
And yeah, I think I’m ready to start building the modes.
That’s scary. But also? It’s fun!! I’ve got a massive project in front of me — a playground of logic and rhythm I get to build from scratch. I’ve done this before, with v.09. But this new build? It’s not just an update. It’s a new flavor entirely.
v.09 was important. But it was messy. I jammed, I explored, I coded like I play guitar — record a riff, layer a vibe, chase the spark, end up with a cool but unscalable track. Now, I’m composing.
This version of SnowCone has intention.
Every choice is deliberate. I’ve got subfolders and a central data system waiting to be filled. My high score logic will live cleanly in dataManager.js. My mode transitions will be handled by a sceneManager.js that’s ready to scale. The app isn’t just a vibe anymore — it’s an ArchitectureVisionBoardCodingPlan!!!!!
But I’m still aware: this might all change. I might rebuild it again someday. And that’s okay. Because this time I’m doing it right — or at least, righter than I’ve ever done. The foundation is there. The philosophy is set. And most importantly, I’m having fun again.
So here we go. Modes next. The Quick Serve arcade, the chill glow of Infinity Lake, the Math Tips pavilion, and the weird wild haunted Story Mode.
Time to leave the menu and walk into the festival.
Let’s go. 🌀🍧
